OVERALL ACCURACY
The largest single error term is the thermocouple conformity error. The standard linearization programs add 0.5 °C variation. The resolution and reproducability of the Model 20B combined with a high resolution A/D converter make it possible to obtain reproducable readings to a 100th of a °C. The absolute accuracy can approach the reproducibility given appropriate secondary calibrations.

COLD JUNCTION COMPENSATION
Exposing the Model 20B to a step change of 20 °C will cause a temporary additional measuring error of less than 0.5 °C.

RANGE
The Model 20B accommodates the full range of all common thermocouple types. Platinum thermocouple users may want a custom gain setting for improved resolution.
